Dave W. Farmer, right, his 4-year-old son Denzel Farmer, left, and Travis Brown, center, work to pave a muddy creek crossing with large stones Tuesday afternoon as part of a Trails 2000 project on the Big Canyon Trail. About 25 volunteers cleared brush and worked to improve drainage along the trail, hoping to benefit hikers, runners, bikers and equestrians.
